A Lesson learned...

Throughout my childhood, teen and 20's(yuck) years i've always thought that christmas is all about recieving. to tell you the truth, i BARELY or RARELY give gifts, well except for my mom, sister and other "special" people. like i said to my close friends, you are considered special if you got something from me. however, even my close friends didnt get gifts from me this season. so who were the special ones? its for me to know and you to find out! ha! They say that guys barely gives gifts, i say that being a dude is not a reason for not giving. For me, the only reason not to give, is that "i don't have money" or "i forgot"-> i'll let that excuse pass. it's plain and simple, and "self-explainable" hahah what an english pare.

So my point here is, we should'nt count how many gifts we recieved for they are blessings given to us, but to continue to give, for they are points that we earn as we enter the afterlife. the more that we give, the bigger our house gets. the more we share, the more berr googles we get, haha-im fuckin around. naks, this is like fuckin serious man, everyone knows im not serious and i always talk shit. ok, save that for later... earlier, i also wrote a comment to friend's blog about blessings in the afterlife.

moving on,
a few days ago, i bought someone a gift, well im not saying what it is and to whom it is for, but it took a hell lot of effort and thinking just to get it. i was about to give up looking for the gift but then in a split second, *poof* it just came in front of me. God was definitely there and he blessed me with a miracle. haha. i was very fortunate. on the evening of 25, that person texted how much my gift was appreciated. my sister was also happy. and me, i felt good, making other people happy. well, i also made others happy, but not through gifts but through continuos inuman sessions! btw, my haws is open, just tell me.

so christmas wasnt that bad afterall, i feel good as we approach the new year. 2005 here i come. a change would be also nice, maybe id like to be called "the Giver" more than "a talkshit"... but no matter what i do, i'll always be a talkshit, its in the blood. fuck. merry xmas again.

The Kitchie Nadal experience!

It's not like i did anything to her, i swear, i didn't touch her... haha. I was just mesmerized with such beauty and talent.

The former lead singer of the band Mojofly had an amazing performance yesterday at the Tower Records, Alabang! As expected, the place was packed with chicks, rockers and many more! I never knew she was gonna perform but im fortunate enough to have passed by with a few friends. Since i was a fan and she was my all time crush, i purchased 2 cd's on the spot, one for me and one for a friend(birthday gift). I had to go through the loooooong line after the performance, everyone wanted to take a shot of themselves with her and have their cd's, posters and even their guitars autographed! holy shit, i wished i was the one signing heheh :) the other members did their autographs as well. it took me around 40 minutes to finish, i even got to know two high school chicks(who happen to be taller than me), hehe they were cool and worth the while, haha. it's all good. i didn't get their numbers. = (

it was my turn for the autograph, woah. such beauty... i was stunned, i couldn't breathe. haha joke! babaw ko naman. this girl could look pretty without make up on. this girl doesnt need to do any beauty rituals after waking up. shes simple, just a plain blouse, jeans, a cap and a guitar is all she needs to look good. i had a little chat with her as she signed, coz im quite demanding on where to put her sign and dedication, it took quite a while but its all worth. its also a small world, a friend of mine back in college happens to be her cousin! coolness man. and i just had to find a lot ways to shake her soft hands... haha! too bad i didnt have a phone, i couldve taken pictures with her as well! my friends even predicted that i'd take my shirt off and have her sign my belly! they were right.. i had that in mind... just didn't have the guts to do it. After that, the other members signed. the drummer however, marco, was the one whom i bought the kahon for our church community, i got it from him personally, he owns K-hon, a good brand. they're all cool man, down to earth.

up to now, i havent washed my hands yet. i wanted the feeling to last... hahaha, seeing her just on stage is nothing compared to a close encounter, a shakehand and a small chit chat. yes, call me mababaw, atleast i didnt faint nor screamed when michael jackson touched his crotch! when my cousin mara(who happens to be a die hard fan) finds out about this, she gonna negotiate for sure. she might offer a good price for that album, and she's gonna collapse when she doesnt get it, haha jk. if i had extra money, i couldve got one for her too. right now im listening to the album, but the words and music havent registered yet, im still in utter bliss... hehehe, this is too much. kidding. i'll be doing an album review a few days from now i guess. for now, i'll get some sleep. just had a good inuman seesion with my animation buddies. shit, 4 albums in two weeks, wala na talaga ako pera, dito na napunta sweldo ko! adios!

first woflgang, next mayonnaise and now kitchie nadal! jp has been star-strucked once again! advanced merry xmas mother f*ckers!

The TOEI Experience

Yesterday, the BG Artist training team went on a field trip to the famous TOEI Animation at CyberPark, Libis. YEY! So what can i say about the trip? AMAZING! I wish i could just take home those big posters of dragonball z! heres what happened:

1st, we were introduced to our tour guide(forgot his name), and hes says that hes obssessed with anime. Im not. Then he brought us to the IB(in-betweeners) section, where they drew character movements using their P100,000 touch-screen monitors. Expensive eh? Fyi, they have 60 of those for each artist, holy shit. kainggit sila. For those who dont know, the in-betweeners are those responsible for drawing the frames between the key frames drawn by the Animators. Animators however, are the ones who draw the 1st and last frame of each movement. They are also responsible for the sequence of the scenes, timing and structure. Confusing? just ask me personally, even if i wrote a long description on this blog you wouldn't get it anyway coz im kinda weak on my english, plus i easily run out of words to say. Moving on... IB peeps - These guys could draw FAST! really fast! they could draw 1 frame per minute, without making any mistakes. Btw its a requirement, for each 22-minute episode it takes around 3,500-4,000 drawings, and TOEI finishes around 16 episodes a month! so imagine how pressured these people are everyday, no time to breathe!

After observing the quiet in-betweeners, we were transferred to the even MORE quiet room... The Animators room! Very disciplined, focused and hardworking, these animators never looked nor talked to us! And i was expecting a short lecture from them. These guys are loaded with deadlines that they don't have to time to talk to anyone. They just keep on keep on working as if no one stood or sat next to them. Not breathing at all, heheh kidding. Btw, they currently working on episodes 100 going up of the series One Piece, if you're an anime fan youve probably seen this being airred at GMA during the afternoon. But they're showing the 1st episodes, the old ones actually. So for those who say that its already the ending or claim that they know the ending, then you're wrong, eh yung mga artist di pa nga tapos eh.. hehe... simula pa lang yan. One Piece has yet a long way to go. oh yeah, were also using DBallZ and One Piece BGs as references in our training, un lang po. hihi.

Next we were intoduced to the colorists. Well compared to the in-betweeners and animators these guys are more relaxed and laid back. Some of them are actually playing around the workplace, obviously they have more time to smile and goof around. The work load is easier, all they have to do is provide flat colors for the drawings done by the IB and Animators, then they'll pass it to the special effects team for shadows, lights and special effects, duh. hehe.

Lastly, we visited the noisiest, wackiest, most artistic and perverted team in TOEI Animation... The BackGround team. These people have the biggest work load next to the Animators but somehow these guys could still goof around, talkshit and talk a lot about hentai. haha. hentai-japanese porn. yup most of them are maniacs and from the way they dress and the look of their desks, i could say that these peeps are rockers as well. i feel at home already, haha. So like i said, it was a different environment. people are noisy and shit, maybe its because of the age, in this team the people were around 20-26 yrs old, in the other teams some were 30 above. We got to talk to few artists only, since it was the 15th(sweldo), almost have of the team were out, having a break, enjoying their money and partying at 5pm. haha. Going back, we got to talk to one artist, he just talked while he painted using the Intuos WACOM tablet which costs around 20,000 to 30,000 php. wow mahal. Using photoshop, they were all provided with a standard brush palette and settings so that the backgrounds done would have consistent strokes. The backgrounds maybe the last thing you'll ever look at in an animation series but its one of the most important and hardest things to do. The colors must be consistent, it must be perspective and the lighting should be in the right place. one small error in the strokes or inconsistency in the lights could cause you your job, then again if the director doesnt notice that then your saved. hehe. Even if it shows up only 1-3 seconds they are still very strict about it. Thats how the japanese work man. Anyway, we asked more from the dude, but he didnt mind, as if he was used to talking while working. It was more of an interview than a chit chat, ofcourse we asked about the salary. he said that really starts off slow, but as you get faster at working, the pay gets better, plus the benefits are great. He told us to get ready to end our social life. wtf?! no way! OJT starts january, with a small allowance for food and transpo only, crap. And after 2 months theyll decide if were qualified to join them. We''ll be working at the BG department, the bestest perverted team ever haha. We'll see what happens next year, pray for my success f*ckers. I wanna go to Japan someday, and make lots n lotsa hentai for jihan and luanne! the horniest members of Amethyst! bingo baby! bingo!

Im quitting the band Amethyst btw, when i start working at TOEI... HAHAHA! joke, if carlo's reading this he'll surely react, he over reacts sometimes. hahaha, peace pare. youre a supa cool drummer mehn.

Btw, I was able to refund my Slipknot ticket! FINALLY! after 2 months! For those who bought slipknot tour tickets you can have them refunded at the araneta colliseum green gate! go and claim your cash mothaf*ckers!

peace \m/

Album Review: A Perfect Circle - eMOTIVe

Damn, the good albums just keep comin in... and now im broke because of that... its barely been 2 weeks since the album release of mayonnaise, now apc's has released their 3rd masterpiece --> eMOTIVe. this is a band not everyone appreciates, but i have great repsect for them. it takes time and constant listening in order to appreciate and understand their musical structure, however you may find their beat rather off and confusing.(which one is the chorus and the verse?) plus add maynard's very deep lyrics. try listening to Tool, its a heavier version of a perfect circle where the vocals(maynard james) is the same but different band members. also, the structure of the songs are quite confusing and very long(around 6-8 minutes per song).

for the review... the band was able maintain their artistic flow through melodramatic riffs and beats, however most of the songs were dark renditions of old songs such as "Imagine" by John Lennon and "When The Levee Breaks” by Led Zeppelin . Apc made their own interpretation of the songs so you won't notice that right away, but the lyrics are pretty much the same. Out of 12 tracks only 2 songs were originally done by Apc which is "Passive" and "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums". The rest are covers. However, "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums" is also a rendtion of their old song "Lullaby" from Thirteenth step. Comparing this with the past albums, this ones quite different. Songs from "Mer De Noms" and "Thirteenth Step" focuses more on suicide, breaking down and angst against god(some). however this album, from their choice of songs, is more of a propaganda against power, abuse and war.. Somehow, this album reminds me of System of a Down and Rage Against the Machine. But as an overall, i could say this album rocks. Apc has never failed to impress me. Keep it up. Peace \m/

No Way!!!

a few minutes ago, a friend told me that Pantera's ultimate guitar shredder Dimebag Darrel just passed away! they say that he was shot after a live performance. no way! however, i didnt see any news on the internet yet, so there is no confirmation that this is true. we'll find out soon enough, this may be the end of pantera... one of the few surviving thrash metal bands... tsk tsk

Background to Hell

Ok, honestly even i don't know what that title is suppose to mean. All i can say is, ive been working my freakin ass out finishing all these background exercises assigned to us in our training program. For those who dont know, im training right now as a background artist in Navel Arts Academy - an associate of Toei Animation. im pretty sure uve heard of dragon ball z, well this is one of toei's greatest masterpiece and i hope to be involved in their future hit series. we are fortunate enough to be in this school, since were all be training for a few months in toei starting january next year, you have no idea how hard it is to get in here. so im saying it again, we are very fortunate. however, it does not guarantee us a regular position for post production. toei has yet to test our skills, speed and determination to decide wether we are qualified or not. 2 weeks has past, im already working on my 4th background piece. take note guys, an average digital bground artist can create 5-10 backgrounds a DAY! so what does that make me? yes, a slow f*cker. crap, at this rate i aint getting any richer thats for sure. Fyi, there are atleast 200 backgrounds per episode in an anime series. so can u imagine how many bg's are there? imagine how many artists are there? a hundred i guess? each artist works their ass out into creating quality digital bg's, and to think that it will only appear for 1-3 seconds, 5 secs the most. some of it are only used once, others are re-used. so its all about speed man, speed, discipline and a whole lot of brute force. however, despite the heavy workload, these artists are paid very well. imagine earning 30-60k a month! hows that? they pay you as you work, so no wonder why these people never leave the workplace, they just wana earn some more! so welcome to hell to jp, say good bye to the life. hahaha. wat an english man! oh yeah, we'll touring toei next week, i just wanna see how the artists look like. plus im bringing a camera, magpapa kodak na kme!

peace \m/

* i texted her, she didnt reply. i missed call, still no reply. *%@#$!##(* !!!!!!!!!!
* abangan nyo na rin ang scandal na ilalabas namin nila direk opel dito sa navel. hahaha.

Saturday Night Bling Bling y'all!

im quite disappointed with the weather this past week, and the weather stations better change their equipment coz their giving out wong info. because of that, no jam on friday night. may bago pa nman ako riff. pakyu yoyong! hehe

jan, lu an and i were invited by mabel to an event by fubu @ elements(not sure of the place) greenbelt. so ok, since ive nothing to do, i went. but before that we passed by rockwell for dinner since the event is at 10 and its also my 1st time to go their! hehe, wow, its so nice! ive never seen such a place before! hehe. plastik. nothing really much to do, just a place to eat and chill. we arrived their around 830 and managed to finish eating around 9 so we have like 45 minutes to kill. well, as usual we talked and we talked, i talked shit haha.

come 945, we went straight to greenbelt, we passed through the other bars and restaurant, jan and i checked out the women in their nice outfits, hehe. as we approached elements i was expecting a sporty event, but hell no, guess what, its a hiphop event! holy shit. if you ask me, i dnt knw shit about hiphop, to be honest, i really dont appreciate the music itself. haha, so we waited for mabels friend to get us in for free. people came in their new school hiphop outfits, some came in old school attires, theres this group who all came in blue with matching headbands and chuck taylors.-->the brotherhood, they all stood by their cars pulling that bad ass look, that dont look bad ass at all, haha. i kept looking and laughing, but jan had to remind to shut up coz these people just might kick my ass and its not our territory. haha, but they looked funny, can't help it man. we sat as mabel tried to get us in, and oh, i was star strucked again! francis magalona arrived, then dice an k9! holy shit, ang ganda ng babae sa dice and k9! so we went in, since it was a girls night out event, only the boys were charged, but since we got the connections, we got in free and didnt have to go through the line! the placed was packed! rappers were doing their shit on stage, funny thing is mabel can't see the stage! haha, i guess u know why, but for those hu dont, well shes vertically challenged? hahaha! (im sorry mabel!) yeah, yeah, yeah, jan and i were going with the flow, we put our hands in da air, and waved it like we just dont care! haha, watever i do, i cant pass for a hiphop, but i tried man. haha. i even made the mistake of saying "la ko alam sa hiphop eh!" aloud, bad thing is a group of hiphoppers actually looke dat me when i said that. i just felt that i had to leave the place before i get my ass kicked hahaha. its been an hour already and no performances, just people drinking beer and moving to the hiphop beat. we were getting bored and planned on leaving until Mr. Blaze was called on stage! Believe me. This guys cool. hes an old school gangsta rapper man. once he entered the stage, the people went wild and this guy could rap hardcore! he reminds me of the guy with the high voice in bone thugs n harmony! coolness! heheh, after that performance, i began to have respect for hiphop. but then again, hiphop was not our thing so we left and drank. but i wanted to stay so i could see the girl in dice and k9 perform, haha. it was a good experience, 1st time i went to a hiphop event. it was cool, but watever happens am still a rocker at heart y'all! hehehe.

mistah blaze gangsta rap represent! tama ba un? hehehe

Addition to the Mayonnaise album review...

I listened to the whole album last night, what i noticed so far is that the lyrics sang in the song does not jive with the lyrics written in the album. so i looked like a crazy fool singing the wrong words as i sang with the CD. hehe engot, but thats ok. :p they've changed some of their lyrics as well. some only. i also found "Pinky White Blue" one of their must-listen-to tracks. sounds very emo man. cool.

well that's it, ill be posting more soon, as of now i can still say this album rocks! go mayo! \m/

Album Review: Mayonnaise

After all the trials, heart aches and exhilarations, the alternative/pop-rock band Mayonnaise has finally released their 1st and self-titled album! The pride of CSB and Muziklaban winners have been through a long journey and they have made it into the mainstream. this is only the beginning, theyre gona go a long way, for sure. Give it a few years and they'll probably get one of those "best rock artist" trophies from the NUrock awards.

Early this morning, bandmate carlo texted me, "i got a copy of mayonnaise's album from odyssey". after reading the message, i went straight to festival mall with isa and grabbed a copy! some say that it was selling like pancakes in ATC. well, i believe that, they play great music! So now that i have a copy, di nako magtyatyaga magconnect sa soundclick para lang mapakinggan ang kanta nilang "dahil" at "the only thing". ilang buwan ko din pinagtyagaan un! now i could play these tracks anywhere!

now for the review...
1st of all do not expect a lot from them, the mayonnaise you hear on the gigs is quite different from the album itslef. i have been listening to their rough mixes ever since, and their sound has definitely improved in this newly released album. it only took a few adjustments in voicings, riffs, effects and solos to be able to come up with quality music. i admire their simplicity in riffs/lyrics and use/mixing of effects. idol ko kyo paga and monty! their sound has defintley matured over the months. Hands down pa rin ako sa mga songs nila na Bakit pt.1, pt. 2, the only thing at Dahil. The album also included new songs: "Pink White Blue","Eddie Song" and "Home", well i still have to listen these tracks, pero ayos tunog ng "Eddie Song" parang parokya ni edgar ang dating!

here are tracks btw:
1. The Only Thing
2. Tulog
3. Bakit pt.1
4. Punk You
5. Jopay
6. Pink White Blue
7. Dahil
8. Eddie Song
9. Home
10. Pseudo
11. Bakit pt.2
12. Aircon

some tracks from the rough mixes were not included, i think it was 5:03 and the other acoustic renditions.

ok fine, sge addict nako mayonnaise, mukha bang magpapakamatay nako para sa bandang ito!? hehe, dein mehn! maslalo akong mabubuhayan! at kakampi ko si carlo pagdating dyan! kami lang dalawa sa banda ang nakikinig nito, at kami lang ata ang bumili. hehehe, fanatic ako eh! oh yeah, i have to go to school one of these days to have my album autographed! get a copy! you may not like it the 1st time you hear it, but eventually you just might. only a fanatic could only come up with a blog like this. astig. hehe. btw i posted on the side the lyrics of one their songs "dahil" --> cool.

mayonnaise--> a good album? who agrees with me?
peace \m/

bo-YOYONG day!

Its bo-YOYONG day! now we could go out to play and dance with the clowns while being swooshed away into the skies by the terrible winds and skin-piercing drops of pouring rain while we hope and pray dat da typhoon will not ruin the happiness of our weekendness! what an english pare! haha.

going home has been very tough today, i was caught in traffic in c5 around 2-3pm. fyi, i went through great pain and suffering. coming from libis it was all good. but as i approached shaw boulevard entering the flyover at c5, i started to feel pain, i felt the chills, and i couldnt breathe. my chests were tight, sweat was running down my forehead, my eyes started to get blurry and my face started to become pale... it was raining, the winds were blowing, i was all alone and it was damn right cold. i couldnt hold on much longer, i could not control... i just had to do it.. i just had to GO! yes! i need to take one hell of a good p*ss.

so i was patient, i drove through the whole of c5 and highway BELIEVING that i could get through this pain. i had my mind set and always reminded myself, "kaya mo toh pards, kaya mo yan, konting sacripisyo". but it was not easy, for the radio commercial added to my burden. they were advertising pampers and other brands that you could associate with p*ss. so my mind was disturbed. i couldnt concentrate, i felt that everything is against me. as i tried to reach to change the station... it began to BURST! it was a total mess! hehe, just kidding. kala mo totoo? 4:30pm, almost 2 hrs on the road, i was approaching the sucat tollgate. i handed over the 31 pesos, my hands were shaking, my body chilling. desperate and all, i began to look for the 1st pink mmda unrinal cubicle. i passed jolibee and alas! i found my savior! the pink urinal! but it was raining hard... and i didnt wana leave the car & get wet. so now i was trapped in a dilema whether i should go down and be drenched or suffer a little bit more and release it at home. the desicion was made, so there, i went home and thats where i did the call of nature and felt heaven. never felt better. haha. end of story.

peace \m/
