Jammed with the Jew

Tonight was another great musical experience for me. I was invited by my cousin Rob to come over his place and jam with his jewish neighbor, he's way older than us actually, around 50's i guess. since i had nothing else better to do and my guitar/pedals have been missing a lot of action, i decided to show up. I drove to Rob's place all excited and pumped up! i told to myself im gona show that jewish dude what filipinos are made of! hah! Once i arrived i was looking for action, but unfortunately his jewish neighbor keith wasn't there yet, he was still at work. Damn the jew, ur fuckin' late! =D hahaha, for some reason americans or other ethinicites don't really like the jewish because of being cheap and inconsiderate at times. i cant really judge em, i havent encountered one yet, hehehe.

and so we waited, around 45 minutes i guess. as soon as the clock struck 8 o' clock, we headed straight to his place. as we went down his basement, oh my god, ive never seen such a large collection of guitars my entire life! if i'm not mistaken his collection were composed of 6 Fender Stratocasters(HOLY FUCK), 5 Epihpone Les Pauls(SHIT), 1 Ibanez S-Series(WOAH), 1 Fender Jazz Bass(YEAH) guitar and 1 Ovation acoustic guitar(BADUY =D). Damn! Does he ever get to use all of'em? can i have one? Sobrang inggit ako pare! putang ina! im so jealous man, however, he didn't invest that much on his effects, and guess what it's a Zoom606 baby! holy shit! Taena nka kalat lang zoom606 ni jihan sa kwarto nya eh hahaha! i never expected to see that shit here in the states! haha! kala ko JB Music(megamall) lang ang nagtitinda nyan eh! meron din pala dito! hahah, it looked kinda cheap so i thought it was only sold in Asia, i was wrong i guess.=D Aside from his drooling collection of guitars, he also had a couple of badass amps man, Fenders, Marchalls, Peaveys.. my god, this guy loves music! he even has his own recording studio! The jews kinda frustrated though, his family don't care about music, his only daughter listens to rap! hahahah! i feel sorry for her daughter...

anyway, after seeing his collections and posters of hendrix, malmsteen and eric clapton on the wall, i already figured that this jew got skill. damn the jew, haha. once he picked his strat up, damn, i couldnt do anything but watch. hes got rhythm and he definitely has speed, in other words - a master shredder!! this guys influences are from the 60's - 70's rock, he played songs by eric clapton, jimi hendrix and led zeppelin. tanginang judyo to di man lang ako mka banat! seriously, i was stunned, i didnt know what to play, rob and i just watched him shred that fretboard. hes damn good, i haven't seen anyone play like that in the phil, well the closest one would be Daniel Crisologo who play satriani like tunes. Hes also the guitarist of Kharma(disbanded) and Mojo Fly. Damn, from then on, i just asked him how did those amazing solos, what scales, stuff like that, i didnt wana play coz' i just realized i sucked big time. But then again the night wouldnt be complete if we dont jam atleast one song. So the Jew taught me riffs of an eric clapton song and jimi hendrix(yeah pare \m/!)! damn, we didnt complete the song coz it was getting complicated but i sure did learn some new stuff! damn, i cud never imagine myself playing hendrix, even though its rhythm its still something new, plus the beat, strumming and timing is different. And he told me to lessen the power chords ocz it sucks big time, hahaha. i know, guitar players before are way better than the modern ones... tsk tsk, ive a lot to learn.

after that amazing musical experience, im deifinitely comin back to this place! he told us that were always welcome, im taking advantage of that! i do hope i learn stuff from this guy, hes really good. he knows the scales well, as well as reading notes and theories, this guy ain't the typical athlete musician who just uses speed. hes got musicality. damn, i feel good today. i just had to write this down. =D

peace \m/
